What is a beneficial owner declaration?<\/span><\/h2>

The\u00a0beneficial owner<\/b>\u00a0is the natural person who directly or indirectly controls or owns the reporting company.<\/p>

If the company is controlled by legal persons, i.e. controlled by other companies, it is necessary to trace the shares or stocks of the reporting company back to the natural person who actually holds them.<\/p>

A company may have one or more beneficial owners<\/b>.<\/p>

The challenges of the beneficial owner declaration<\/span><\/h2>

A company, whatever its form, may have to carry out a declaration of beneficial ownership<\/b> in two cases:<\/p>

- The first case is when the company is registered: usually, the declaration of beneficial owner is made when the company is created. Otherwise, the company has 14 days to make the declaration.\u00a0<\/p>

- The second case is when there is a change in situation: when the ownership or control of the company changes, a new declaration must be filed within 30 days.\u00a0<\/p>
